Always There: Untold Stories from the LGBT+ Community in North Staffordshire
Learn more about this exhibition
This Exhibition is open from 19th September to 30th November 2026
We’re proud to welcome ALWAYS HERE, a powerful exhibition celebrating the lives, experiences and contributions of LGBT+ people across North Staffordshire.
Bringing together new photography, archive images and personal stories, the exhibition explores identity, activism, community and social change, helping to preserve stories that have too often been missing from our shared history.
Come and discover these important stories, celebrate local voices and learn more about the people who have helped shape our communities.
There is also a series of free art and photography workshops at the Museum, with all materials provided:
- Saturday, 31st October: 2pm to 4pm, portrait making with photographer Ming de Nasty.
- Saturday 7th November: 2pm to 4pm, collage with artist Kidda Kinsey.
- Wednesday 11th November, 2pm to 4pm, typography with Kidda Kinsey.
- Thursday 12th November, 2pm to 4pm, portrait making with Ming de Nasty.
Once the exhibition closes, the content will become a new digital LGBT+ public archive at the Stoke on Trent City Archives so that these stories will be part of our city’s history always.
